| CRB Checks |
Lynk Reach will be checking everyone's enhanced CRB checks when the new term starts in September. If your CRB has expired it is imperative you apply for a new one, as you must have an advanced CRB check if you are planning to work with young people.
Lynk Reach is offering to hold a surgery from 5 August, by appointment only, for individuals or groups to apply. There will be a small admin cost of £10 per person. This cost can be reduced by 50% if people come in groups of 5 or more. There will be no charge for Lynk Reach volunteers.
Please make cheques payable to Lynk Reach. Please contact Sophia on sophia@lynkreach.co.uk, for information on the documentation required. Please feel free to inform any artists or young people including volunteers to contact us to book a surgery time.

| Unity |
Never in their wildest dreams did they think that such greatness could have been achieved. But when a small, inner city group of adolescents with a heart full of dreams and a passion for dance, travelled to Bremen, Germany for the IDO World Hip Hop Championships, it became inevitable that such greatness is definitely obtainable.
Unity Dance group, led by choreographers Tashan Muir and Bismark Anobah, was reported to have devised a magnificent dance piece that won them 1st place within the competition gaining them the title of “Worlds Hip-Hop Champions”. They were competing against approximately 48 countries, over a span of 2 days and 4 separate gruelling rounds to systematically beat the competition and finish victorious.
One member of the group, Jade Hackett, stated that “There’s nothing stronger then a bond between family, and that’s what we are. We fought together and experienced every emotion both good and bad, as one.” “We would like to be an inspiration to other inner city kids like us and show others that if enough positive energy is put into us, then only positive result can manifest.”
The group have now got a lot of different project coming up and have had a lot of interest shown in them. Its best advised to watch this space for the youngsters as they seem to be climbing the ladder of success rapidly.
Unity also performed a piece based on 'A Lifetime on Tiptoes' - a project marking 60 years since the Partition of India, funded by the
Heritage Lottery Fund (£50000) at the carnival that opened the Mayor's Newham Show this Summer, where Lynk Reach had a stall in the 'Go for it' tent. Said Jummy Sodeinde of Newham Local Authority:

'I would like to say a big thank you to Lynk Reach for organising Unity's performance.
They were the stars of our stage and drew the biggest crowd of the weekend.'
