Congratulations to Kingsford Community School, Newham! Click here to go the London Teenage Poetry SLAM website. Kingsford Community School, Newham, were the Highest Scoring Team at the 2007 London Teenage Poetry SLAM, held on 23rd June 2007 at Stratford Circus. The Lammas School, new to the project, won Most Striking Line, whilst Holy Family Technology College won Most Striking Performance Technique. Guest performances came from Chicago poets Langston Kerman and Christina Santana, with a special performance by students from Arch Bishop Michael Ramsey School. Pieces by dance troupes Replica and Unity also featured at the Final. Judging the SLAM were poet and author Pie Corbett, poet, performer and workshop facilitator Patience Agbabi, and Peter Kahn (one of SLAM’s founders), who came to London from Chicago especially for this event!
